The
Upper Sacramento River springs forth near the base of Mt.
Shasta in Northern California. The Sacramento & McCloud
Rivers provide some of the finest trout fishing in the
West.
The
Upper Sacramento River is notably one of the best
dry fly fisheries in California.
The
steep canyons and deep pools of the McCloud frequently
awards anglers brown trout of 5 to 10 lbs.
Most
of the water in these "blue ribbon" trout streams
flow from natural springs, thus providing a cold water
supply and a nearly constant water level throughout the
summer
months.
The
unique geological diversity throughout the area has
separated the stream beds of these rivers into many
distinct water types - rapids, riffles and large
pools.
An
angler has the opportunity to use nymping methods
in the morning on fast water, and stillwater techniques
over large shallow pools in the evening.
Fish
are plentiful in these stunningly beautiful rivers, and
include the world's most famous strain of rainbow trout!
